Post, the Digital Darkroom

All digital files need to be tweaked to get the best possible image. Two short steps with photoshop can result in images as good or better than film images.

You will learn how to process raw files, adjust levels, and correct color. You will retouch faces, enhance eyes, and learn proper sharpening and softening techniques. These are the mainstays of portrait retouching.

You will learn the best way to create a black and white digital photograph, how to create photographs with part color and part black and white, and also how to create pastel color photographs.

You will learn how to remove objects from a photo, and also how to add objects to a photo that were not there.

Classes are from 6:00 to 8:00 for 3 nights, and the cost is $95 for all 3 nights if you register online at least 2 days before the scheduled class. Classes are $110 if you wait and pay the first night of class.

Our one day classes on Saturday, gives you the same information as the 3 night classes, but all in the same day.

Bring your laptop and we will supply you with the images to work on to follow along in class. You can also take detailed notes and work at your own pace at home. We will show you how to use the basic tools, which are the same in Elements, as well as full Photoshop. These same tools are used for almost all the retouching and editing you will want to do. We will touch bases on the more advanced methods, but primarily we will be teaching you the basics, after which it is easy to branch out to the many other tools available to you in Photoshop and Elements.

Please note that these classes will deal with Adobe programs. There are many good photo editing programs out there, and most of the techniques we discuss are very similar, but we will be concentrating on photoshop and elements.
